Would anyone know what the shutter speed would be for my Nizo S480 at 18fps and 24fps?
Thanks

The super8 list gives the shutter angle for your camera as "variable." I'm not familiar with your camera but if the shutter angle adjustment allows you to read the shutter angle in degrees then to get the shutter speed you divide the shutter angle by 360 and then divide that by the frame rate. For example if the shutter angle is set to 180 and the frame rate to 18 fps then (180/360)/18 = 1/36 seconds. at 24 fps (180/360)/24 = 1/48.

Oh I see,
I can't seem to find the shutter angle, does anyone know how to adjust it? Or does anyone know what the angle is?

If the list is correct and the angle is variable then it's range is probably in the range of 180-240 degrees. If the list is wrong and it's fixed then it's probably around 200 degrees. You could take the camera apart and measure it but I don't recommend it.
What conrols does the camera have? Does the meter work?

Thanks Actor!
That link really helps.
The variable shutter means that you can make it fully closed (normal) or half open (to get the effect of maybe.. a street where all these cars are moving in a blur)
I opened the camera without harming anything and the shutter angle seems to be 180 degreses, like a projector.
Unfortunately, this camera doesn't seem to be working, i just put in the light metre batteries and the camera seems to be really confused. The aperture's always the same no matter where i point the camera. I'm kinda upset. It's so hard to come over a decent cheap super 8 camera nowadays... Maybe i'll just join the digital craze and drop film. But I want to be the only kid on my block, my neighbourhood to be using one of these.
What do you think?
Once again, thanks Actor for your help.

make sure that the aperature setting is on AUTO when you are checking the light meter.
If its on MANUAL then the aperature wont move.

Yah, it's on auto, i've tried just about everything.
How much do you think it is to bring in for repairing a light meter in a super 8 camera?

Does the meter move around when in Manual mode?? If it does then just use an external meter. Repair would likely be more than another working S480.
Oh yeah there is a battery check for the light meter batteries, try that to see if the power is getting through.

I've also tried manual but didn't get anything out of it.
When i turn the camera on, the meter automatically jumps to the 8 stop. No matter where i point it, bright or dark, the meter always stays the same. When i press down the button to check the batteries, the meter goes down to zero, and when i release, it goes back to 8. These are also new batteries. Would anyone know what the problem is?
Perhaps I'll bring it in to get an estimate. If it's way out of my league. Then I dunno what i'll do.
Thanks for your help!
Jeffery
